Nationwide Continuing                 Education Systems

University Pharmacotherapy Associates, LLC (UPA) was founded as a continuing education organization. UPA was approved in 1989 as an independent entity by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Higher Education and accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as an approved provider of continuing education. As a provider of continuing education, UPA complies with the Criteria for Quality for continuing pharmaceutical education programming.

UPA has a national consortium of faculty, in various specialties, dedicated to providing the highest quality educational programs. Faculty members are selected based upon their experience, reputation, practice and ability to effectively communicate a given topic. UPA utilizes a curricular-based consensus approach in the design of all programming.

A goal of UPA is to deliver excellence in continuing education on a national basis. These educational programs are intended to develop the clinical skills and knowledge base of practicing pharmacists. Programs are designed to expand the pharmacist's role in patient care and clinical decision-making. Pharmacists are enabled to integrate clinical knowledge, evidence, as well as pharmacoeconomics into practice. In addition, the nationwide system continuously updates participants through internet technology and targeted newsletters.
